Brief

Jason Collier (Captain)

Jason, born near Richmond, Virginia, developed a profound affinity for the sea from a young age, complementing his love for outdoor activities and family time. His journey into sailing began in Punta Gorda, Florida, where he earned ASA 101-104 certifications at 19, sparking a lifelong passion for maritime pursuits. This led him to enlist in the U.S. Navy and serve aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, navigating the Persian Gulf and Europe.

After leaving the Navy, Jason returned to Virginia, co-founded Captain Collier’s Seafood, and ventured into real estate while raising his son. In 2020, eager to return to sailing, he joined SailTime in Norfolk, gaining access to a Beneteau 35.1. By fall 2021, he crewed on a 65’ Nautor Swan for the North Atlantic Rally, sailing 2000nm to St. Maarten and discovering a deep connection to the Caribbean.

By March 2022, Jason relocated to the U.S. Virgin Islands to pursue his dream as a captain, starting as a day captain then expanding his horizons into term charters aboard the Bali 5.4, Ithaka, by October 2022. His days are now spent exploring the Caribbean's waters, snorkeling, and sharing its wonders. Jason's commitment to safety and guest enjoyment defines his mission on the water.

Jennifer Sutton (Chef and Mate)

Jennifer, originally from Michigan and the eldest of seven children, has always felt a deep connection to the water, growing up with boating as a natural part of life on the Great Lakes. Her journey into sailing began later in life when she moved to New York City in her twenties. Initially drawn to photography and film, she transitioned into sailing after being invited to photograph for the NYC Community Sailing Organization, sparking a passion for understanding the mechanics of sailing.

She immersed herself in the sailing world, obtaining multiple certifications from the American Sailing Association (ASA), including ASA 101-106, through experiences in Vancouver's Gulf Islands and the Caribbean's Leeward Islands. Her love for sailing and the ocean led her to work as a yacht broker in Massachusetts before seizing a crew opportunity in the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2018. Since then, Jennifer has flourished as a Charter Chef, blending her culinary skills with her love for sailing and hospitality.

Based primarily in St. Thomas, she has chartered extensively throughout the BVIs, Bahamas, St. Maarten, St. Barths, and Anguilla, focusing on creating memorable experiences through food and sailing adventures. Jennifer holds certifications in STCW, CPR, NASLBA Navigational Skills and Safety, and has logged over 10,000 sea miles. She is currently pursuing her USCG Captain's license to further enhance safety and guest satisfaction aboard.

Jennifer divides her time between family in Michigan and New York, her work base in St. Thomas, and her home in Vieques, Puerto Rico, where she continues to refine her culinary talents and pursue personal photography projects. Her greatest joy comes from sharing her passion for sailing, exploring new destinations, and creating unforgettable moments for charter guests, fulfilling their bucket list adventures with each journey.
