Chef Ameda
I discovered my passion for cooking at an early age, inspired by my families' traditional recipes and the vibrant culinary culture of their hometown in the Dominican Republic. Born into a family where food was a central part of everyday life, I quickly developed a knack for creating delicious meals that brought people together.
After graduating from culinary school in St. Thomas, I decided to hone my skills by transitioning to maritime learning multiple culinary techniques and mastering the art of blending flavors from diverse cultures.
I was given an opportunity at a luxury yacht charter company, where I cemented my position as a charter chef. Specializing in creating bespoke dining experiences for client's aboard luxury yachts, I combined my ability in seafood and coastal cuisine with a flair for presentation that delights the senses.
My menus truly reflect my commitment to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients wherever the yacht sails. Whether it is crafting a gourmet seafood platter from the day's catch or preparing a multi-course tasting menu under the stars, my dedication to culinary excellence and attention to detail ensure that every meal is a memorable experience for my guests.
When I am not in the galley, I enjoy exploring new ports of call, discovering hidden culinary gems, and sharing my passion for food with my family. My end goal is to continue pushing the boundaries of yacht dining by creating unforgettable moments one meal at a time.
“If you need a Captain for your island hopping, look no farther than Capt Marlon Williams. We have booked with him twice and I cannot imagine using anyone else. Captain Marlon has lifelong local knowledge of the BVI and USVI. He can take you to the most popular hot spots, the most deserted islands, beaches and bay's off the beaten path, amazing snorkeling reefs and anything else you can imagine. Want to meet Foxy on YVD, no problem. Marlon’s familiarity of the boat and equipment is second to none and he never asks us to lift a finger for anything other than a swig of our drink or to eat the amazing food. If you are looking for a literal stress free vacation with a fun but safety focused crew, Captain Marlon is your man. We are headed back for another trip with him this October and we can’t wait!”
I have been on two charter trips with Marlon over the last 12 months. The first was with my wife and two other couples on a Leopard 45 Catamaran for 10 days in the BVIs and the second was with my wife and three children on a Dufour 530 Monohull for 10 days in the BVIs and USVIs. In summary, we have found Captain Marlon to be an very capable sailor, ships engineer, tour guide, and logistical problem solver. He is also pleasant company for adults and kids during voyages. Captain Marlon is very focused on making sure his clients have a good experience in the islands. His primary methods of accomplishing this are planning an effective sailing route, suggesting great ideas for the kind of activities the group is interested in, and leveraging his seemingly endless supply of local contacts to solve problems. If you clearly communicate the activities you wish to undertake on the trip, Marlon will work hard to make them happen. My family and I highly recommend Marlon as a captain that can help you make the most of your charter in the Virgin Islands. Best regards, Jeff Sabins Austin, TX
