Point of Care Ultrasound (VR)
Developed in partnership with Philips Healthcare Australia (the manufactures of the Lumify POCUS), the Real Response Virtual Reality (VR) point of care ultrasound trainer allows users to practice image recognition, transducer placement and scenario integration. The system has been developed in close consultation with the Real Response and Philips clinical governance team who includes emergency physicians, sonographers, paramedics and military medics.
Reduce the burden required to train clinicians in points of care ultrasound (POCUS). Virtual Reality offers a scalable cost-effective way to train clinicians in image recognition and probe placement.
Why use VR to Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS)?
Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS), is notoriously challenging to train medical practitioners, paramedics, military medics, and other first responders in. VR POCUS training allows immersive education to be conducted anywhere with an expert facilitator guiding the user through their scenarios remotely.
How does it work?
Using standalone VR technology Real Response can free the user from cables, computers, and sensors allowing for a free-roam experience. The system allows users to enter into an immersive interactive 360-degree environment and train/test the ability to perform an extended focused assessment with sonography for trauma (eFAST) assessment using POCUS. A facilitator/educator can keep a close watch on their students through an integrated observer function from anywhere in the world.
